What You Will Learn as an Intern

Interns at the Law Office of Jason Tenenbaum, P.C. gain exposure to every stage of civil litigation. This includes initial case evaluation, client intake, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Unlike many internship programs that limit students to observation, we integrate interns into active case teams. Your research and writing directly influence legal strategy.

For example, you will draft memoranda of law, prepare discovery responses, and review medical records in personal injury cases. You will also analyze appellate decisions that shape no-fault insurance law across New York State.

Our firm's diverse practice areas provide a well-rounded educational experience. Interns working on personal injury matters learn to evaluate damages, coordinate with medical providers, and build compelling demand packages. Those assisting with employment discrimination cases study federal and state anti-discrimination statutes, draft administrative complaints, and research evolving case law.

Additionally, no-fault defense work exposes interns to the intersection of insurance regulation and litigation. This is an area where our firm has handled over 100,000 cases and secured more than 100 published court decisions.

Beyond legal research, interns develop professional skills that law school alone cannot teach. You will observe depositions, attend court conferences, and participate in case strategy meetings where experienced attorneys discuss real-time litigation decisions.

Additionally, Mr. Tenenbaum provides direct mentorship. He offers candid feedback on written work and guidance on career planning. Many of our former interns have gone on to successful careers at litigation firms, government agencies, and in-house legal departments throughout New York.

We accept applications on a rolling basis for fall, spring, and summer terms. Positions are open to second- and third-year law students enrolled in ABA-accredited programs. To apply, submit a resume, writing sample, and brief cover letter to intake@jtnylaw.com. We also consider exceptional undergraduate students with a demonstrated interest in law for limited research assistant roles.
